Atlanta Affordable Housing Network Partner Spotlight: Mir Home Care
Mir Home Care is an important partner of 3Keys within the network of providers working in Atlanta’s affordable and supportive housing ecosystem. Their mission is “to deliver compassionate, dependable support to caregivers and their loved ones—ensuring they receive the care, resources, and guidance needed to live confidently at home.”
Typically, Mir Home Care works with family members who are caring for loved ones in their homes. Their team helps guide clients through the often complex Medicaid waiver enrollment process, allowing caregivers to receive financial compensation for work they are already providing. Along the way, they also connect families to supportive services that make caregiving more sustainable. This support helps individuals remain in their homes longer, with more stability and access to care.
At 3Keys, these services translate to a critical service for residents in our permanent supportive housing (PSH) communities. Many residents have experienced chronic homelessness and are managing significant physical health challenges in addition to the lasting impacts of housing instability. Through Mir Home Care, residents receive assistance navigating the Medicaid waiver program so they can access in-home caregiving services tailored to their needs.
Medicaid can cover the full cost of a caregiver’s support, including help with housekeeping, transportation, medication management, and grocery shopping. The number of approved hours is based on an assessment of each resident’s physical health needs. Caregivers may be family members, friends, or providers identified through Mir Home Care.
For residents working to maintain independence, access to a caregiver can be a lifeline. It supports their ability to remain housed, reduces the likelihood of hospitalization, and helps them manage day-to-day responsibilities that might otherwise become barriers to long-term stability.
This kind of partnership reflects 3Keys’ broader approach to addressing chronic homelessness in Atlanta. Housing is the foundation, but it is not the only solution. By integrating on-site services, building relationships with trusted providers, and connecting residents to healthcare and income supports, 3Keys works to create an environment where residents can maintain housing over time and improve their overall well-being.
Representatives from Mir Home Care regularly visit 3Keys’ properties that offer PSH, hosting “lunch and learn” sessions to introduce residents to available in-home care options and answer questions about eligibility and enrollment.
In some cases, residents may also qualify for similar services through Medicare waivers, though these programs typically require a co-pay rather than offering full coverage.
Together, these coordinated efforts help ensure that residents have access not just to housing, but to the resources needed to remain stable and supported in their homes.
