3Keys Property Spotlight: Presley Woods, a Permanent Supportive Housing Apartment Complex in the Kirkwood Neighborhood
Nestled in Atlanta’s Kirkwood neighborhood, Presley Woods is one of 3Keys’ six properties helping people transition out of homelessness. Presley Woods specifically provides permanent supportive housing for adults with mental health disabilities who have lower or no incomes.
Consisting of 40 studio apartments, the community surrounds a quiet, tree-shaded courtyard with a partially covered patio, creating a peaceful common area for residents.
Inside the main building, residents have access to amenities that support everyday life and community, including laundry facilities, a reading room, gym and recreation room.
More than 500 community members in Atlanta are served by 3Keys each year as we work together to find their path out of homelessness. With our permanent supportive housing model, our staff meets individuals where they are to provide personalized, wraparound services.
Through this holistic approach, staff and partners provide essential services, including case management, service coordination, peer support, life skills training, counseling, eligibility assistance, transportation aid, food assistance, and referrals to local providers. By integrating affordable housing with healthcare and customized support, 3Keys removes critical barriers and helps residents achieve lasting success.
The story of Ms. Cathy illustrates the importance of the permanent supportive housing model:
Ms. Cathy became a resident of Presley Woods four years ago, and she is so proud of the fact that she has her own place and that she has managed it so well despite challenges. Ms. Cathy is 71 years young, and she has a wonderfully positive attitude despite having survived many hardships, including the loss of an adult son.
While with 3Keys, Ms. Cathy has made marked progress on all of her goals. She is an active participant of our onsite partner, PMC. The PMC team assists with various groups and clinical needs. Ms. Cathy attends all of her scheduled appointments, follows her provider’s recommendations and remains compliant with treatment needs.
Ms. Cathy is committed to attending her on 1:1’s with her onsite supportive housing specialist, and she remains open and engaged in those meetings. She is a pro at managing chronic health conditions and has demonstrated a strong commitment to maintaining her stability.
Ms. Cathy is a four-year resident of Presley Woods and proof of the power of permanent supportive housing.
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, permanent supportive housing is “a cost-effective solution to homelessness for those with the most severe health, mental health, and substance abuse challenges.”
3Keys consistently maintains a housing stability rate of 85% or higher – exceeding HUD’s 80% benchmark. In 2025, 93% of residents remained stably housed after two years. By increasing staffing and services across all properties, we aim to sustain and potentially surpass this high standard of housing stability.
3Keys serves single adults, veterans, and returning citizens over the age of 18 from diverse racial, ethnic, and gender backgrounds. Many residents face dual diagnoses of mental illness and substance use disorders, developmental disabilities, and/or HIV/AIDS. Often arriving from hospitals, behavioral health institutions, emergency shelters, correctional facilities, or the streets, these individuals benefit from 3Keys’ comprehensive programming.
